For a successful hand, there is a need to show the cards to the other players in the game.
Although no one has yet determined the exact origins of poker, it has spread beyond the U.S., perhaps courtesy of Persian sailors who taught the game to their French counterparts in New Orleans. Poker is a common form of entertainment in many countries, including the Philippines, where the game has gained popularity since the introduction of satellite and cable television. Most modern versions of the game use a deck of cards, with a few variations to include the wild card. Regardless of its origins, the game of poker has become a cult favorite, particularly as the popularity of televised tournaments has grown.
